Our mission is to simplify zero waste living—together. We offer package-free and low-waste groceries and household supplies, delivered right to your door using returnable containers. We are champions of the circular economy and against single-use, throwaway culture.
Meet the Founder
As a busy working mom with an eco heart, Emily Sproule found herself torn between her full life of work/family and dedicating the incredible time it takes to shop zero waste. With the ongoing news about garbage in the oceans and Canadian recycling being shipped to developing countries, she felt like she had to do something. How could she create less waste in the world for her children, for other people’s children or for animals when attempting to reduce the packaging waste of one household felt like an impossible task? It was this realization that stirred up a newly found passion for making zero waste more accessible and led Emily to Jarr. Jarr (with two r's for Reduce and Reuse) was created to make package-free shopping easier for busy folks like her who had limited time and still wanted to reduce their impact on the world around them.
So, whether you are a parent, a career focused go-getter, a busy student, or someone who simply prefers avoiding the grocery store these days, Jarr was created just for you. Enjoy having less waste in your life and more guilt-free everyday fulfilment. We got you.

Why Less, Why Now?
These recent months have been a time for a reflection—a time to understand more deeply what is important to us and who we want to be. Thanks to spending more time in our homes than ever we suddenly have a very intimate look at how much garbage we create in our homes and in the world. This is a time to take action and to work together. Together we can move mountains.
Look to Each Other for Support
As the Zero Waste Chef, Anne-Marie Bonneau say “We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.“ This quote is wildly shared in zero waste groups and for good reason. We are in this together. It’s not a competition of who did it best. It’s a “hey, that’s a cool idea” or the curiosity of “I wonder how I can avoid this plastic bag from my bread every week.” In the end, it’s putting one foot in front of the other to make the change that is required—together.
You Are All Amazing!
Whether you are reducing waste by opting for package-free groceries delivered to your door, heading to your local zero waste shop, choosing to eat less meat, biking instead of driving, reducing energy in commercial buildings, planting trees, or spending time learning about what you can do—whatever your path is, WE SALUTE YOU. Yes, the journey is not a simple one and yet you are out there. Your effort is one of impact, of heartfelt intention and we are happy to be on this journey with you.
