Why Less, Why Now
Now is the Time to Make a Move to Less
We are in it people. This is the time, the time to rise and make change. The time to encourage each other, to join forces, to share information to find new, alternative ways to live—reducing the impact we have on our sweet, sweet planet.
There is a lot of evidence out there, and if you are reading this I know you see it. Our oceans and water systems are full of plastic. Temperatures are rising and our trees are on fire. Now is the time to move in unison, to save this place we call home.
What's Getting in Our Way of Reducing?
Why is reducing our waste so hard? Is it because we decided to forget the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and only landed on one? Recycling was just so much easier at the time thanks to the systems in place! Is it because Reducing and Reusing everything in our lives feels like a mountain too big to climb? For sure.
Look to Each Other for Support
Even though it can feel challenging, we believe with better systems and by acting together we can move this mountain. As the Zero Waste Chef, Anne-Marie Bonneau say “We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.“ This quote is wildly shared in zero waste groups and for good reason. We are in this together. It’s not a competition of who did it best. It’s a “hey, that’s a cool idea” or the curiosity of “I wonder how I can avoid this plastic bag from my bread every week.” In the end, it’s putting one foot in front of the other to make the change that is required—together.
You Are All Amazing!
